Bank Holiday Weekend. Rarely does a phrase bring me so much joy but the four day Easter weekend has been an absolute dream so far. With the prospect of a sunny day ahead, my friend Tash and I decided to take a road trip around the coast for a day trip to Llandudno to visit Charl for a day of fun by the seaside. After an hours drive, with a gorgeous soundtrack of James Bay, we were greeted very enthusiastically by her dog Molly and decided to tackle the Great Orme.
Before long, the sun was out in force and we stopped off at the cutest cafe for a drink, relishing the warmth from benches outside. We also encountered these dapper gentlemen along the way…
We decided to make friends.
We walked up an appetite pretty quickly so headed back for a spot of lunch – finished off by a delicious slice of chocolate fudge cake. Holiday diet, what?
Next stop was the town itself where we had a speedy trip to the shops before joining the crowds down at the seafront.
After a near miss with a dive-bombing seagull on the beach, we decided to explore the pier. There’s nothing like wasting 2ps in an arcade with the amazing smell of warm donuts floating in the air. Ahhh…
Well and truly walked out, we took a pit stop at Charls to catch up on Gogglebox before visiting The Kings Head for dinner. In true ‘beside the seaside’ fashion, I opted for the fish and chips while the others devoured risotto and a burger.
As we were leaving, this sign felt very appropriate…
There’s not much that makes me happier than a true British summer day and spending it with these girls made it all the better.
