Inside, it struck the right balance between cosy and stylish: think cushions scattered across wooden benches and a huge drinks selection behind the mood lit bar. Our power walking had left us peckish starving so we got straight down to business and checked out the menu.
The selection of gin was so massive that we were left completely overwhelmed. On a recommendation from our waitress, we opted for a simple yet refreshing option: Hendricks, elderflower tonic and a couple of slices of cucumber garnished the top of the giant glass. A true summer drink to take away the disappointment of the weather. Food-wise I went for ‘The Tower’ burger, a bacon and cheese topped classic with added onion rings and BBQ sauce on the side.
The food arrived and within minutes, I had pronounced it one of the best burgers ever. They give you the choice of steakmince or chicken and going for chicken was an unexpected delight! Now, this is possibly the worst picture of food ever and I have to apologise for how it doesn’t remotely convey its awesomeness.

June 10, 2015 at 7:09 amThis is definitely going on my to-visit list: I love Edinburgh but the only place I can remember eating that was particularly good was the Elephant House (aka. HP cafe!) so it's always good to have more options and everything about this place sounds fantastic 🙂
