I’ve found myself going a little stir crazy over the past few months. With pressure piling up all around me to keep learning and improving at work while simultaneously trying to run a blog, complete a proofreading course and keep up some semblance of an exercise routine, it was high time that some time out was needed. So, when some friends of Nick’s asked if we would like to spend a weekend escape in a log cabin in Wales with them, the word ‘yes’ couldn’t have come out any faster.
So, after another hectic week in work, I was packing a bag and setting off on the two hour drive to our weekend residence. Of course, the first thing I spotted when we walked into our cabin was this….
Perfection. Olivia and Chris had also brought along their husky, Kaiser, who turned out to be way more photogenic than me.
It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend. With a whole load of food, DVD’s and drinks, it felt amazing to put everything out of my mind for a few days. Olivia and I even braved the hills to try and find the local pub – now that was a strange experience, but at least it looked pretty!
I’m already dreaming of more spontaneous weekends away….
