Nestled in the picturesque Cheshire countryside, Carden Park Hotel offers a luxurious spa experience that’s perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Recently, the Twilight Spa Evening really impressed me and my friends so I just had to write about it! If you’re looking for a spa day, keep reading for my full The Spa at Carden review.
Carden Park holds a special place in my heart, as I worked in their marketing department when I was fresh into the field! It was always gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous location – the spectacular driveway will have you convinced of that before you even set foot in reception – but trust me when I say The Spa at Carden elevates it to a whole new level.

Just over four years ago, the new and improved The Spa at Carden opened its doors and with one of the largest spa gardens in the UK, it’s a really impressive facility. From the moment you walk in, the divine relaxing scents and soft ambient lighting give off a completely enchanting atmosphere.
The Twilight Spa package lasts from 17:30 – 21:30 (spa access from 18:00) and includes a welcome glass of Carden Park Estate Reserve, the sparkling wine created from the on-site vineyard by HalfPenny Green Vineyards, use of the spa garden and thermal suites and a two course dinner at Elements restaurant.
As one of the hotel’s most affordable spa options, the Twilight Spa evening is ideal to enjoy the facilities, although treatments from the extensive menu are available to add on for extra indulgence – I was basically salivating over the botanical massage. Without a treatment, the four hour time frame is perfect to enjoy all the facilities available at the spa garden.
The Spa at Carden runs like a well oiled machine: at the time of booking, you give your arrival time and what time and meal you’d like to eat. This helps you to dive straight into the experience upon arrival, without needing to take time out of your experience to arrange logistics.
The facilities were impeccable and well-maintained, with the ideal temperature in the pools and hot tubs for the still-chilly May evening. The outdoor hot tubs were huge and the glass pods provided a cozy, private retreat to enjoy a drink in peace.
I have to give a shout out to The Spa at Carden’s incredible staff. From spa reception to the restaurant and bar team, everyone was super friendly and helpful but not generically. It felt like they were allowed to be themselves and let their personalities shine through!

The food at Elements restaurant was a delightful highlight of the Twilight Spa evening. The restaurant is beautifully styled, with full length glass windows that overlook the Nicklaus golf course and Cheshire hills.
I opted for a tofu Thai green curry as my main course and it was absolutely delicious, with a warming hit of spice that had me well ready for dessert – a rich, fudgy chocolate brownie. What a perfect way to round off the experience.
We chose to eat at 20:00 to give us enough time to properly relax in the facilities beforehand. You can really see the benefit of pre-ordering here, as we were served really promptly. This gave us enough time to head back down to the pool for one last dip after dinner.
The spa is ideally located to watch the sunset over the golf course, offering breathtaking views from both the restaurant and garden, which rounded off our evening beautifully.
Overall, I had an exceptional experience at The Spa at Carden Park Hotel. The combination of luxurious facilities, serene atmosphere and exceptional service made it the perfect escape from life’s hustle and bustle – not to mention, healing my muscles from a long run the day before!
The Spa at Carden has won absolutely tons of awards since opening officially in January 2020 and it’s easy to see why. I’d highly recommend it to anybody looking for a bougie evening – or longer break! – in the countryside.
