Not just content with exploring new cities and countries, I like to make things a little interesting back home by finding interesting places to visit, see and eat! In case you have noticed somewhat of a theme across my more recent posts, the latter has taken top priority recently and while doing a spot of early morning shopping with a friend last weekend we discovered The Brunch Club. Tucked away on Duke Street in Liverpool city centre, The Brunch Club is the kind of place you could imagine spending every Sunday morning with great food and friends – or even alone with a good book!
It’s quite a large space with walls of exposed brickwork adorned with wooden doors. The quirky theme continues with the Alice in Wonderland quotes tins on each table. As for the menu, it was simple but with options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free eaters – and if you like eggs in the morning, you’re in for a treat!
As always, I was tempted into the pancakes but interestingly they were served with maple syrup, bacon AND blueberries where you’d usually get a sweet or savoury option. Weirdly though, this combination worked and I scarfed them down incredibly quickly despite them arriving piping hot! In need of a simple, comforting option, Caroline went for ‘two eggs on toast’ and she gave them a big thumbs up.
If I wanted a real feast of a treat breakfast, I’d probably go elsewhere but The Brunch Club was a definite winner for its tasty food and relaxed ambiance. Plus, we were in and out within half an hour so it’s a great stopping point to break up a morning in Liverpool city centre. All in all, another great little place to eat in Liverpool.
Where’s your favourite place for breakfast in Liverpool?
