Searching for the Best Panoramic View of Sydney? It’s just $15!

The best things in life are free. Especially in Australia where everything is very expensive. Soaking up the view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from riverbanks is pretty brilliant in itself right? But I got an unexpected surprise when taking a trip to the suburb of Manly – something that came highly recommended by fellow backpackers – in the form of an absolutely stunning view of the city.
view of sydneyThe quickest and easiest way to get to Manly is by ferry and as soon as you leave the dock, you cruise straight past the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Pretty exciting for a girl who was feeling a little lost in such a huge city halfway across the world. But the best was yet to come.

After spending a few hours on the beautiful beach in Manly, we decided to head back into the city in time for dinner. This unexpectedly brilliant timing meant that we rode back towards the city as the sun began to set.

The ferry to Manly and back costs between $15 and $18, depending on when you travel. Plus, you’ll get a day out at a relaxed beach town too! To me, that’s value for money. This was easily my best afternoon in Sydney and I’m itching to get back on that ferry already!
